Why do countries with larger amounts of Syrian refugees have more terrorist attacks?

Please explain this to me. I know why, but I want to hear the opinions of people who would like to bring more Syrian refugees in to the U.S.

This is in response to the ORLY attacks in Paris.

PLEASE, if you are against Syrian refugees coming to the U.S. don't answer this question. I want to hear other opinions.

The places with the MOST terrorist attacks are actually the places the refugees are fleeing. There is actually a much stronger correlation in terror attacks to nations that are active in the middle east or other contentious zones.

It may surprise some people to hear it, but the French are actually militarily active in many muslim regions, particularly in North Africa. It's this that corresponds much better with terror attacks. As evidenced by that since 2011, Germany has experienced 7 terrorist attacks, 2 of which had fatalities other than the perpetrator. France however, despite only hosting a fraction of the number of refugees, has had 24 attacks in the same time period, with 8 of them having fatalities other than the perpetrator. The US hosts fewer refugees than either France or Germany, but is much more active in the middle east. The number of attacks in the US since 2011? 32, events with non-perpetrator fatalities, 18.

The US is also a much bigger country...

@heatherpommelman: That's true, in both size and population. Germany has a higher population than France though, and accepted more refugees, and yet still has much less violence.

But then there's Russia...by land the largest. By population, about half the size of the US, though much greater than either France of Germany. Terrorist attacks there? 31 in 2013 alone, I don't even know about in 2011, 12, 14, 15, or 16. And Russia has fewer refugees than any of the other countries we mentioned.

If there is any correlation between refugees and terror attacks, it clearly pales in comparison to other factors.
