Why is challenging permissive parenting so important?

Because it is a philosophy which is self-evidently untrue but has been so successfully propagandized by Left-wing ideologues, over the last half-century, that it has acquired the status held by the Gospels in former times. The goal is the destruction, or marginalization, of the family, which is the most important remaining institution standing between the state and the individual.

You can control how you raise YOUR children, and that's really where what you can do about it ends. But there are plenty of foster kids waiting who need homes. How many have you taken in to parent ? That's a way of
challenging permissive parenting
that is more than just talk.
I think the Pro-life movement needs to put more emphasis on adoption. There are plenty of kids looking for a "forever home." Besides unwanted pregnancies adoption is a viable option to IVF (although there are some natural non-lethal fertility treatments which should also be explored). I am not saying that Pro-lifers do not do a lot of work with adoptions --they do --but there needs to be more and more emphasis --there is more to being Pro-life than being anti-abortion.
@beckychandler: Much more. But people don't really focus on that when they're standing in front of women's clinics chanting and calling names. Or when they vote to cut programs that would help lower income mothers and children. That's basically punishing the women who have chosen to give birth in spite of their circumstances.
@bijouxbroussard: Well, there you lose me. The women healthcare aspect of Planned Parenthood is a fraud and smokescreen. Those services (including contraception) are available at a higher quality from legitimate doctors and clinics which provide higher quality services, and almost all of which accept Medicaid. Planned Parenthood is in the business of killing unborn children.
@beckychandler: You're someone who has broken things down to "left vs. right", and I have no illusions about you being able to see the other side with any type of compassion. Like I said, I've volunteered there and have seen how low income women have been helped. So it's not about a political agenda for me.
