I actually think Donald Trump is going to prove a lot of people wrong...

...but sadly not George Orwell, Margaret Atwood, or whoever wrote the Book of Revelation.

@theoneyouwerewarnedabout: When have I said he was Hitler?

Pfffff

@Burnley123: Stop with the "alt" BS. You are a communist against free speech and liberty. Trump may have some shortcomings, but he's not a communist.

@theoneyouwerewarnedabout: Hahaha. I love it. It's a fact.

@Carissimi: Name one example of me being against free speech. One example only, is all I ask for and please feel free to dig through my entire posting history.

@Burnley123: Your stance against Trump, and you referencing 1984 can only suggest, to a reasonable mind, that you are in opposition to Trump's politics and his supporters. As Trump and his supporters are fighting for freedom of speech, and liberty, and trying to break free of the oppressive PC that now has people arrested in Europe for telling the truth (a police officer is being investigated because he told the truth about the high migrant crime rate, as another example), then it seems you are a supporter of this oppressive PC and censorship.

Am I wrong? Do you support open borders, and believe a country has no sovereignty to decide who comes in? No authority to care for its own citizens first?

Yes
As Trump and his supporters are fighting for freedom of speech, and liberty, and trying to break free of the oppressive PC
I have criticised Trump for any number of reasons but never on the grounds of PC or censorship.

This is where the alt-right people seem to get a bit confused about the whole free-speech thing. When I am making a political criticism of you I am not attacking your freedom of speech. You are free to say what you want, much as I am free to criticise it. That is open political debate. You cannot defend free speech on the grounds that nobody is allowed disagree with you!

Countries have always had that sovereignty and always will. Caring about its own citizens would be a good thing for both Britain and the US as they are each becoming increasingly plutocratic.

@NearMiss: I actually agree with you on that. I do not agree with the gentleman's views and in fact I despise them but he should have been allowed to say it.

@NearMiss: Hmm... I don't think the UKIP person should have been arrested. What 'the bacon people' did also included racist abuse and was bullying behavior. I think the sentence was harsh and I would prefer it if Britain had a First Amendment equivalent.

Your turn. Should people be allowed to burn the US flag?

@NearMiss: That is in line with my view of freedom of speech and you are consistent in that sense. However, it is impossible to defend Trump on free speech grounds because his understanding of that is 'selective'.
