Ice deported a US Citizen born in Denver Colorado who has been allowed home after 5 months in Mexico

The original video I heard this story about was on Instagram but he told them he was a US citizen. He offered his birth certificate and other records, they deported him anyways. Only with a help of a lawyer he came back. Ice has detained 500 American citizens so far.

Some very nasty comments were left on the first video's comment section.

One in particularly brought up the invalid point that citizenship can be revoked.

This is not true once citizenship has been granted. Nor is this the case with the second video with Garcia.

The claim that citizenship “can be revoked” is too broad. A person born in the United States generally cannot be stripped of citizenship simply because the government or someone else disputes their status. The Supreme Court has held that the government cannot forcibly take citizenship away; a person can relinquish it voluntarily under specific circumstances.

@mysteryespresso The problem here is the government's insistence on not releasing records.

It's why a independent agency had to start keeping records "UNOFFICIALLY".
