I suspect Canada will break apart anyways when they realize what a disaster embracing marxism and joining the eu is...

@pikminboy The good news is: I don't think it will. Too many understand that sovereignty won't eliminate any threats that Quebec City wasn't able to eliminate.

I also think they are naive for thinking the threats to Canada will end with Trump. If its JD Vance or Rubio (or any Republican), the attitude will probably be the same. There is also no guarantee that the Democrats will remove tariffs, and they might negotiate tougher deals in future.

@Burnley123 I think it's naive to assume threats will end with Trump. Yes, Trump will sign his last inane executive order in Jan '29, but the voters who put him there will still be around. But check back in a few weeks and we'll have a better idea of what the American electorate are thinking.

This will probably be the 10th time Quebec has threatened to separate from Canada over the last 50 years or so. Each time, they get about 20% of the hardliners supporting the movement, but what they forget each time a referendum is held, is that the rest of Canada gets to vote too, which means the rest of English Canada is what has always held Quebec in Canada, not the French Canadians!
