Why America's democracy feels absurd compared to CCP rule in China.

We take pride in the US Constitution which is a bunch of detailed laws and codes. We struggle to enforce them consistently across different people and places throughout the land. Individuals feel deep commitments to fairness and order while operating inside systems that often ignore those same values. We try to impose permanent meaning on a physical world that changes constantly and offers no guarantees. The result is a mess compared to life in China.

This is why Trump operates like Dirty Harry. He is guided by his own morality and operates under a strict, individualistic code of justice that rejects institutional bureaucracy, compromises, and procedural delays.

In China, the CCP is Clint Eastwood. Real life. No acting.

China is fine if you like following rules made by the CCP. They have a lot of Unity in that way.

Americans are individuals. People that risked everything to make a new country that was
free of the bondage that so many get used to.

I don't know that I could have started my business in China, and I don't know if I would have
been as successful if I had done it in China. Or if I would have been able to enjoy the freedom
I have enjoyed in America.

Life is a mess. The reason why America's democracy has been so resilient is because it is intended to operate in a messy world with messy lives. The idea that Hitler and Stalin kept the trains running on precise time and that China has prioritized order over human dignity isn't the flex people who want law-and-order to mean "my way or the highway" (to prison or death) that they think.

As for Cry-Baby-trump operating like Dirty Harry, that was a well scripted movie character that even Clint Eastwood could never live up to let alone this sleepy fat slob who only dreams of his next corruption move. A meme of Cry-Baby-trump kicking ass doesn't change that reality.

@MarkPaul I don't see life as a mess. I know some believe everything is horrible under Trump,
but in two years he will be gone.

I have told people before that I have always done fine no matter who is in the White House, and
I think if people can look past their hatred of Trump they will see that things are no worse under him.

Yes we are at war and that sucks, and he didn't lower prices like he said he would. But we made it
through high grocery and energy prices during Biden, so we will make it now.

Did you hear how China is cutting off govt assistance to a family where a woman went to a concert in Hong Kong ?
They caught her on surveillance camera and think that if she can afford a concert she doesn’t need govt assistance .
DogMan · 61-69, M
@AthrillatheHunt Flock cameras? How do they tell them all apart? 😏

I'll bet they don't deal with 100s of Billions in fraud in China.

The Chinese can do high speed rail. Also poverty is way down. The Chinese do keep tabs on their billionaires.

trump is the mad king.
sree251 · 46-50, M
@Crazywaterspring The Chinese cannot give us a way of life that we Americans want.

The US government and the CCP: two cheeks on the same ass.

@DogMan
China would probably like guys like me. I follow the rules and I produce. But I would have a problem with them looking over my shoulder all the time, and I would eventually snap and go to prison.

Yes, China would like guys like you. Straight shooters. Any veering off the track is a cause for attention. The CCP is concerned about the safety of the ship carrying 1.4 billion passengers. Why would you be concerned if onboard computers constantly scan systems onboard the Boeing 777 flying you and 300 other passengers to your destinations? Like Americans on a jet, the Chinese rely on the (CCP's) computers to keep them safe.
DogMan · 61-69, M
@sree251 I don't know if I would feel safe in China, one misstep could do a lot of damage.
sree251 · 46-50, M
@DogMan I understand your fear. It can happen in the USA also. There are people, and Nick Fuentes is one, who had their bank account frozen without warning or explanation even from the bank. No money, all of a sudden. You can't buy gas, you can't buy food, and you cannot find out why. You may think that it only happen to bad guys and you are ok with the US Government doing that. Does the CCP do that also? I don't know but I do know that the US Government does that, and it is WRONG!

I am conflicted here. I agree with the first paragraph (with a couple of reservations) But the second is pure BS. Trump is virtually amoral, motivated purely by his perceived self interest, and poorly guided by that. And any delays he avoids are childish petulence.
I accept that both countries are difficult to administer, for different reasons..😷

Allow me to make a correction. Trump is not amoral. Trump is immoral. A child is amoral because it's conscience has yet to be formed. Trump cannot be amoral. He can choose to keep his campaign promises or break them. He did assert that he has his own morality. Why didn't he say so before I gave him my vote? He treated my vote as a blank check allowing him to do whatever he wants. This is the fundamental problem with American democracy.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@sree251 I stand by my call and I think you made my point for me. Trump never developed a conscience, simply because he was never taught right from wrong. His father was positively evil and showed his sons that self interest was his north star. The elder broke under the strain and drank himself to death. Donald proved more flexible.. And American society has long been leaning that way..😷
