Chicago Islamic scholar Mohammad Nusairat: 'We did not come here to coexist'

Chicago-based Islamic scholar Mohammad Nusairat said Islam was not meant to coexist with other religions and asserted its supremacy over other faiths during a November 2025 lecture, clips of which have recently resurfaced on social media.

"We did not come here to coexist. We are superior to everyone else and will not be surpassed,” Nusairat said. “No one is above us. If other religions want to live with us, they have to worship Allah."

The video gained renewed attention after X commentator SonofLiberty357 shared the clip on June 28, writing, "Islamic scholar Mohammad Nusairat in Chicago drops the mask."

The remarks were made during a Nov. 14, 2025, lecture originally posted on the YouTube channel of Men of the Ummah, a Chicago-based organization.

In the lecture, Nusairat argued that Islam should not be viewed as one religion among many.

"We can't think of Islam that it came to live with these other religions in the sense that Islam is a religion amongst those religions, and they have a share with the truth, and they have a share of justice, and they have a share of the correct worship Allah," Nusairat said. "Islam came to correct all of that. Islam came to remove the oppression of all those religions, and it is the only truth, and it is the only way to justice."
