New national polling averages from political analyst and pollster Nate Silver show Democrats leading in many of this November's key U.S. Senate races. The data show Democrats ahead in every race except those in Iowa and Kansas. This comes as The New York Times reports that tariff and trade issues could play a large role in the upcoming midterm elections, while reports surface that President Donald Trump is planning to make the midterms a referendum on himself. The Morning Joe panel breaks it all down.

Whoever last talked to tRump has a big influence on what's in his head, so if he had just talked to someone who questioned his attack, maybe those questions were still bouncing around the void between his ears.
@ElwoodBlues @KunsanVeteran Leaders of countries at war always try to hide things going badly for them - there's an old saying about war's first casualty being the truth.
Here though, I see desperation. The President has gone into a situation without proper thought and planning (or need) and now has no real way to extricate himself, and his country, apart from honestly withdrawing.
The second part of his March 15th claim implies to me that oil was his main, but unstated, motive; perhaps not by taking over Iran's oil but by blocking it so the American oil producers can profit. Without considering they would profit from domestic sales as well as exports. That though is only my opinion without evidence, so I could be totally wrong.
@KunsanVeteran I've checked my registration. Still there even though thousands are being purged. Republicans know can't win in open and free elections.
I first voted in 1980. Republicans have never gotten a single vote from me.
"Oil prices will drop precipitously....when we win the war". He has no achievements to point to so he makes more promises he can't keep. A lot more people are realizing that now, even people on the Right. I think the polling reflects that.
