How do I keep running into idiots who are positive they are intelligent?

Does the South no longer require history in schools, or do they just teach "alternative facts?" The Nazis were not really socialists. Only someone with no education would believe that. This site is getting extremely frustrating to be on. How do you converse with someone who is completely ignorant, but is positive they are right? When did we decide that education was bad and that ignorance was cool?

the nazis were socialists that's for sure. nazism is a branch of socialism. it's national socialism.
I find frustrating talking with anyone from usa due to their incredible lack of culture geography and history. discussing facts is just stupid because there's no possible arguments against facts and evidence.
you can't change people's beliefs just like that specially if they are very different from yours. but still there's many ways to discuss.
I recommend reading about daryl davis.

@SW-User only very very few and privilege ones can even get there. and once in there they learn about only one subject. they don't learn basic things that they should have learned before. that's the issue.
want a perfect example? ben carson. a neurosurgeon. watch any interview with him and he sounds like a complete moron even ignoring facts and evidence.

@unknownpoetx I think Ben Carson had a stroke. They asked him to leave Johns Hopkins. He wasn't like this 20 years ago. Listening to him now is horrific. I don't understand how or why he believes those crazy things.

@unknownpoetx Just an MD, and like I said, they made him leave. He hadn't done surgery in at least a couple of years. Besides, I suppose he can still do a good job cutting people open while also believing the world is 6,000 years old.

@unknownpoetx Oh you lived in Germany? During what time period was that? Because national socialism hasn't existed in Germany for almost eighty years. You never lived through national socialism in Germany unless you're about a hundred years old.

@unknownpoetx I said that 73 years is almost 80 years. Which it is. And you say I "don't even see basic arithmetic" despite that you apparently can't do maths. You even said you know what national socialism is because you lived through it in Germany but you're less than 40 years old.
