Federal judge strikes down Trump policy suspending visa processing for 75 countries.
U.S. District Judge Jeannette Vargas set aside the policy Friday as “contrary to law and in excess of statutory authority.” She ruled that Secretary of State Marco Rubio exceeded his authority by issuing the policy, which “runs afoul” of the Immigration and Nationality Act by mandating “the refusal of visas to eligible applicants without any basis in law,” the judge ruled.
Judge says power lies with consular officers and Trump's policy also undermines the congressional requirement that puts consular officers at the forefront of any visa decision.
Consular officers? How much do we pay these people? $65,000 to $80,000 a year? That's what we pay the mail man or mail girl sticking letters in our mailboxes. We are a free-market capitalist democracy. The Immigration and Nationality Act was framed by a rat nest of crooks called the US Congress.
Come on, Ms Vargas. Even US judges have been indicted for taking bribes. Don't give us this crap about running afoul of American bullshit.
