Fkng peabrain. What kind of response is that to men and women who are struggling while risking their lives for the Country?

@MoveAlong In his cowardly, illegal war no less!

I feel for Shulkin having to try to support the utter failure of tRUMP, Kegsbreath, and the US Navy in this mess.
Shulkin fully realizes the mental health and public health issues that abound on board the Lincoln. Personal sanitation is difficult and, especially on a crowded ship, we’ll be seeing more illnesses to add to their misery.
EDIT: Re-reading my post, I don’t think I made my point very well. Shulkin tried to acknowledge the sailors’ and their families’ concerns and sympathize which tRUMP probably heard & saw as betrayal (anything short of full throttle support of his heartless & idiotic remarks).
Until LEADERS start hearing and acknowledging those concerns and complaints nothing will improve for the sailors. They—and their families—will feel more and more abandoned by the Navy, this misadministration, and even America as a whole. It certainly doesn’t help that this illegal war is predicated on lies and tRUMP’s greed.
Demented Donnie is heartless; as is most of his misadministration.
Shulkin’s remarks were a step in the right direction—but not nearly enough.

How will Trumps remarks go down with recruitment efforts?
Anyone who is thinking of enlisting in any military branch at the moment, is in desperate need of mental help

@independentone It’s an interesting question, but I have no visibility on the answer.
Historically, going AWOL is quite rare. It’s often handled as an “administrative action” at the squadron commander level (e.g. Article 15, Letter of Reprimand, Letter of Counseling) in the Air Force & presumably similarly in the other branches. Now, that’s in peace time, mind you…since we’re in a de facto if undeclared war, desertion would be much more serious (potentially).
Given this historically f***ed up situation we find ourselves in with such incompetent & reckless “leadership”—well, I would say it’s anybody’s guess…

@independentone The desertion and AWOL rates are held pretty close to the chests of the Command & Legal career tracts. As a medical officer, I rarely had visibility on them. During my deployments, one of my roles was as the Medical Operations Commander but the was not a true “commander role”(i.e. I was not on G series orders except when briefly filling in for Squadron Commanders or Group Commanders).
I was in a different tract—clinical practice & medical administration. So I really don’t have any useful insights to your very intriguing and insightful question.

@KunsanVeteran Going UA is bad enough. The member will have Captain's Mast (NJP) to explain themselves. Missing ship's movement is another matter.
