How did Trump lose the Iran war so badly?

By all metics, the USA lost this war. Spent a bunch of money and expended resources with no positive gain. One may think killing the Ayatollah was positive; but all it seemed to do was strengthen the regime’s support. And now the global economy needs to correct itself, in ways that don’t favor the consumer.

My feeling is the war need not have happened at all, and that stems from complete ignorance of the geopolitics of the region. And that stems from hiring complete dumbass fluffers (Drunkard hegseth) for posts that require professionals.
