Sen. John Fetterman Lashes Out at Sen. Bernie Sanders.

During a fiery interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity on Wednesday night, Fetterman was asked why he appears to be one of the few Democrats openly challenging the growing power of the progressive movement.

The Pennsylvania senator responded with a blistering attack on Sanders' political record.

'I'd just like to remind everybody watching right now that Bernie Sanders will never represent any more than about 640,000 people in Vermont,' Fetterman said.

'That's all he's ever done, and he ever will do. He's never won an actual competitive election.'

Fetterman's comments came after Sanders said this about longtime Democrat strategist James Carville:

If Mr. Carville doesn’t want to be in my party, the party I belong to, that Piker, that El-Sayed belongs to, he can start his own party,” Sanders said, referring to Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed, who defeated Rep. Haley Stevens (D-Mich.) in the state’s Democratic primary on Tuesday.

Here's what I would have said to Sanders:

Just since when were in you in MY party, Sen. Sanders, in the past 57 years? For a few months each time you ran for president?

You weren't a Democrat when you ran unsuccessfully for office in 1968.

You weren't a Democrat when you were elected as mayor of Burlington, VT in 1981.

You weren't a Democrat when you were elected to the U.S. House in 1990.

And weren't a Democrat when you were elected to the Senate in 2006.

So, please, stop with the cow dung about being a Democrat.

(Of course, I'd have a lot more credibility saying that than John Trump-Ass Kissing Fetterman.)

Now do you really understand what it is to be a Democrat?

This democratic party has never been democratic. It can't be when capitalism is prevalent within it.

At least Bernie Sanders now accepts PAC money. He never did before because it's undemocratic. Who has modified their own political stance?

Will you drop PAC money? Will you ever drop the corporate rights?

If not, you're not democratic. Your for the corporations in either case.

Bernie always wanted to curb corporate rights, because it's undemocratic. It gives power to the corporations. And takes away the power from the people! The heart of any democracy is the people!

@beckyromero And I don't believe you are understanding about changing.

People change. Political parties change. Even whole countries change.

And if it doesn't change it gets destroyed.

There's no disarmament in this.
It's a fact of life.

@DeWayfarer

I've previously laid out a Constitutional Amendment on how campaigns should be financed. That would be my preference - but not to do it unilaterally.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@beckyromero Which involves capitalism. The whole economic system needs to CHANGE.

It's not unilateral either! There can be points included. Just not pure capitalism.

There is nothing to even push back on capitalism, in the constitution.

It's written with capitalism in mind. Example executive powers, to not mention what I have already mentioned. The power goes to the top.

That itself is capitalistic.

Even Adam Smith warned of unrestrained capitalism. Which is exactly what has happened.

Fetterman is in uncharted territory. It must have something to do with his health emergency after being elected.

@Pfuzylogic

I really wish they would BOTH disassociate themselves with the Democrat Party. Sanders is no Democrat and Fetterman is a wanna-be-Republican.
