Well, initially they were wailing over the casting of Elliott Page as Achilles. Fox News for instance, before they actually watched the movie and figured out Elliott was cast as Sinon.

Elon Musk promised to spend $100s of millions to create a historically accurate, non-woke Odyssey. They all predicted it will flop and put the word out that the left is going all out to promote it.

But in fact, the left is mostly observing and laughing at the right meltdown over a piece of fiction.

It’s a familiar pattern:
react first, verify later, and rarely revisit those initial assumptions to make sure they’re even correct to begin with.

There’s also something ironic about demanding strict “historical accuracy” from stories that have always existed in the realm of myth, interpretation, and retelling.

At some point, the conversation stops being about art, historical accuracy, and becomes more about identity signaling—about who gets to decide what counts as “acceptable” storytelling.
