Amy Klobuchar is running for governor before her U.S. Senate term is up.

🤔After U.S. Senator Walter Mondale resigned his U.S. Senate seat when he was elected Vice President in 1976, then Minnesota Wendell Anderson (DFL) resigned. Lt. Governor Rudy Perpich became governor and promptly appointed Anderson to the vacant U.S. Senate seat to finish the rest of Mondale's term.

In 1978 when Anderson decided to run for a full six-year term he lost to Republican Rudy Boschwitz.

And Perpich? He also lost in 1978 when running for a full gubernatorial term against U.S. House Republican Al Quie.

I think no one was more surprised than Obama when Hillary managed to lose the Democrat nomination to an unknown freshman senator in 2008, but she had a special talent for snatching defeat from the jaws of victory that would never leave her.

I think Obama only ran for the nomination in 2008 to gain name recognition, with no initial thought of winning in that year.

And while Warren Harding won that presidential election, he sure screwed up with the Washington Naval Treaty, Teapot Dome, etc.

I think Obama only ran for the nomination in 2008 to gain name recognition, with no initial thought of winning in that year.

Had the MSM picked up and ran with the National Enquirer story about John Edwards' affair causing him to drop out of the race before the Iowa Caucus, I have little doubt that Hillary wins that Caucus, then New Hampshire (as she did) and goes on to win the nomination.

Maybe she picks Obama as her running mate. Maybe she picks Joe Biden. She probably picks Gen. Wesley Clark (ret.).

Regardless of what happens in November, the U.S. is much better off with a McCain or Clinton presidency.
