I know in my young years I used to like American patriotism and as a kid I used to think racism was obsolete. Until I experience racism. I started to read Americas dirty wars and lost interest in joining the Army. Now I'm wide awake and I understand a lot of things. Maybe living in the modern age made us look at past history without not understanding the motives of why people acted a certain way.
