A Trump pardon is a Monopoly "get out of jail free" card.

The card is not free. When it comes to plausibly pay-for-play pardons, Trump in his second term makes Bill Clinton and every other president look like pikers. Trump's second-term pardons and sentence commutations have wiped away more than $2 billion in fines and restitutions.

Queried by 60 Minutes in October 2025 as to why he had just pardoned Changpeng Zhao—the founder of the cryptocurrency exchange Binance, who had already served four months in prison and had his company pay $4.3 billion for money laundering—Trump said: "I have no idea who he is."

The 47th president has serially exceeded the most infamous corruptions in U.S. history while generating a fraction of the outrage.

@jshm2 The devil has no term limits and has eternal power. Trump is as powerful as a Blackhawk chopper pilot on his way down in Mogadishu

An honest next administration will legislate to recind or review many of the actions of Trump the Corrupt.. (Yes. I realise the terrible humour in what I just said..)😷

@sree251 Your words are correct of course..Trump seems to have made what used to be unacceptable, at least in public, the new fashion. Now whether he has infected America enough for him to becaome the new normal is one question. The next question is, if he has succeeded, wil America infect the rest of the world, or will the world turn its back on America as another fallen empire? Early signs are, they will. But the Jury is out. Look at the unsportsmanlike behaviour of the Argentinians at the end of the World Cup, assaulting Spanish players and turning their backs on the presentation.Very Trump indeed..😷

I doubt his conduct has any influence on moral standards; otherwise we wouldn't find him appalling. His presidential campaign was brilliant and I voted for him. He turned out to be a disappointment in terms of the violence he wreaked, the human harm he caused, and the taxpayer money he wasted since taking office. His approval rating is at an al time low. If he were a CEO of an American business corporation, he would be summarily fired when the company's stock price tanks. The US Constitution is unwieldly.

@sree251 I grant that you and people like you are appalled. The difference is among those people who were always @$$holes. But were ashamed to act that way in public prior to Trump..He has lowered the bar.😷
