‘The Five Boroughs just woke up’: Mamdani caves, says Little Italy to be added to map
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani found out the hard way that Italian-Americans don’t mess around.
After Little Italy was left off a “New York City Immigrant Enclaves” map, the community appears to have made Mamdani an offer he can’t refuse.
“Mamdani’s decision to leave out Little Italy on his map of enclaves within New York is beyond shameful. Italian-Americans contribute so much, not just in New York City, but the entire nation. He also left out Irish and Jewish enclaves. We all know what’s going on here…” former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani wrote on Thursday.
The Italian American Civil Rights League also acknowledged the snub.
It didn’t take long for Mamdani to agree to add Little Italy.
At publishing time, it was disclosed that NYC Mayor Mamdani was humiliated by having to back down to Italian-American protests about the omission of Little Italy from the NYC "immigrant map."
"It's outrageous! The next thing they'll demand is that I show up for Columbus Day and make a speech where I can't say Columbus was a genocidal racist!!!" shouted Mamdani, according to inside sources who spoke on condition of anonymity.
He tried blaming Adams. But Adams is not on the watch, Mamdani is. As the mayor IF he was intending to show ethnic enclaves you research or have your staff research it to assure no exclusions. There is no excuse for this. Just like he is denying he was aware of a staff member of his administration having contact with an Iranian official. Is he really that ignorant? IMO every chance he gets he tries to fly below the radar and pull some stunt.
