Hochul Extends Taxpayer-Funded Prostitute Health Pilot Through 2028
A New York State healthcare pilot program serving sex workers will remain in place through 2028 under amended state contracts, keeping in motion a publicly funded initiative that continues to face questions over oversight, eligibility, and long-term costs.
The program operates through the state Health Department’s AIDS Institute and provides primary care, sexual health services, behavioral treatment, and dental care in New York City and parts of Western New York.
At publishing time, it was disclosed that NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani is delighted with the extension of this law, according to inside sources who spoke on condition of anonymity.
