@Ynotisay My personal exposure to US markets is limited to small amounts tied up in my pension scene. And that is the funds choice, not mine. But since its indexed for life I dont care. The rest are home grown of Asian local.😷

@Prison1203 Again, your numbers are accurate. But they dont tell the full story. Fuel has always been cheaper in America that almost anywhere else. (Although its pretty cheap in the UAE) because of the tax regimes applied and the reasons for doing so.... So using the pump price as a comparison is flawed, because the government is either discounting your price artificially, or inflating everyone elses, depending on how you see it. Equally, we have a minimum adult wage of over $26.00 an hour here and a full working week is 38 hours. We have Universal health cover ans subsidized University Tuition on a scheme linked to income tax to repay it. Employers also pay 12% of our salary into compulsory superannuation/pension schemes to support our retirement, on top of the basis aged pension. Social security system.
I am not telling you any of this to show how wonderful Australia is. Just to demonstrate that things are DIFFERENT here and just quoting a single number doesnt tell the story.
How much the cost of fuel has risen for you is relevant . How much your wages have risen in the same time scale paints in some of the colours. You really need to see the trend everything is taking.. and why. That is where my comments come from..😷

@MoveAlong I hear you.. However, Harry Truman was a well known bow tie wearer. And he okayed the Bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. So you might want to consider that.. Seriously, I know the messenger is second rate. But he focuses on the numbers and ties all the issues together. Its hard to find a source that does that without getting personal about politics. And his numbers are right. America is about to fall off the tightrope, to one side or the other. A serious recession without an apparent exit strategy, or accelerating inflation.. Take your pick? 😷
