Why are some people against social programs that help the poor or needy?

I am needy. 😢 will you help me

Republicans are exclusive. Why should I pay for them? If there are no Social Programs crime skyrockets.

I don't know anybody who is completely against such programs. But a lot of people, like me, are against the scale of them and the potential for abuse.

People should be responsible for themselves and do their best to earn their own way. The world does not owe you a living. You, me, and everybody else all need to be out there making ours.

And homelessness? Nobody loves you enough to take you in and let you sleep on their couch. How did that happen?

Mostly the answer is drug addiction and the solution to that is residential treatment facilities. Round them up and commit them to an institution and force them to sober up and learn how to look after themselves. Don't just give them unconditional handouts.

For some people it is not enough to be relatively wealthy and comfortably off. They need the poor and destitute to reassure them of their purpose in life.

I don't know anyone the is against a legitimate need from US citizens. Why do you think that?

That's their politics, the Republicans and Democrats are not New Deal Dems.
