Albanians set Prime Minister's house on fire because they aren't having Ivanka Trump.

They are not having it today. The island that Ivanka is gonna buy is protected and the corrupt prime minister literally just changed the law specifically for the Trump family. They are not happy and yesterday there were large protests. When you create this much instability, you should feel ashamed of yourself especially since she's using the environment as an excuse to build it but is ruining protected land for a resort.

Corruption is corruption. Trump doesnt care. None of the Trumps do. It would have made more sense to burn down the Albanian Prime ministers house.. But the real losers are going to be the investors, before and after, who buy in. Because it isnt going to end well. It never does with Trump..😷

Ten years he's lived in your head rent free. It's always telling how people stay liberal later in life. Lack of personal growth is embarrassing

how exactly is she being oppressive what rights are being taken away?

Sazan Island sits within the Karaburun-Sazan National Marine Park, an incredibly fragile ecological zone.

Together with the nearby Vjosa-Narta lagoon, it is a vital sanctuary for rare marine life, sea turtles, endangered Mediterranean monk seals, and is a crucial stopover point for migratory birds (like flamingos).

To make this mega-resort legally possible, the Albanian government quietly altered laws in late 2024 to reclassify and deprotect land that was previously strictly off-limits to developers.

This has sparked formal investigations into whether public land was illegally privatized or fast-tracked through "Strategic Investor" statuses to bypass the rigid environmental checks standard citizens and smaller businesses have to follow.

For decades, Sazan Island was a restricted, uninhabited Cold War military outpost. When it was finally declassified, many Albanians viewed it as a symbol of public heritage and natural beauty that belonged to the nation.

Instead, developers have erected barbed-wire fencing, blocking off local beaches and public access to the coast.

This has sparked massive, multi-day protests in the capital city of Tirana, with citizens carrying signs reading "Albania is not for sale" and "Don't defend the oligarchs, these are the citizens' properties."

While the government argues that a 1.4 billion luxury resort will put Albania on the map for high-end global tourism and create construction jobs, locals see a different reality. The wealth generated by ultra-luxury, gated enclaves rarely trickles down to ordinary citizens.

Instead, it drives up local costs, prices out residents from their own coastlines, and alters the cultural landscape into an artificial, hyper-wealthy hub that doesn't reflect the community.

@SatanBurger so your whole point your standing on is environmental protection concerns while simultaneously applauding arson?
