We need to have reform in America
America used to be a beacon of hope — not perfect by any means, and we definitely still have a long way to go — but there was a time when we believed that if we put aside our political differences, our racial differences, our sexual differences, our gender differences, our differences in creed, whatever they may be, we could become not just a good nation, but a great nation.
Today, however, paints a much uglier picture. Today is not necessarily:
“Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.”
Instead, it paints a picture of epstein class exploiting the poor in horrible ways. It brings images of lies, corruption, and ugly truths. Is this really the kind of America we want? No — or at least, I don’t.
I have always been a champion of the oppressed. I get it — I’m a nerd. Maybe that comes from Superman. People say, “He’s not real.” Well, maybe we need to be more like Superman — or Superwoman, or whatever symbol of hope inspires us — the men and women of tomorrow. Maybe we need to rise up against tyranny and become champions of the oppressed once again.
America should be a nation that looks toward the future. An America that has hope, but also brings hope into every home, whatever “home” may mean in this situation. We need hope, yes — but we also need action.
We need reform in the United States.
