Yeah it hurts. I don't take racism litely. Yet when the discrimination is your own kind as well hurt's. You think the witch trials were better? How about the American Indians?🤷🏻‍♂

Whole tribes were massacred. They weren't considered even people. That didn't change until 1920 as well.

@bijouxbroussard Well we can agree with some things. I had to emphasize that DEI included age discrimination. As well as that in government age discrimination was illegal before Trump shredded DEI to pieces.
@DeWayfarer And Trump is anti diversity, equality and inclusiveness because he’s a bigot. Anyone who is against those things is.

@bijouxbroussard Oh he literally shredded everything out of the federal version of DEI. Including the disabled.

Did you know the acronym itself as well as the words behind each letter is proscribed for anyone in government to mention in any federal document?

The shear hatred for literally EVERYTHING in DEI is immense just to do that.

I once posted what DEI included. The post is rather lengthy.

All the things in DEI I truly supported! And not only that, I believe it should have been a constitutional amendment.

Get out of the hands of even politicians especially the president.

Our history is strewn with these acts of unspeakable horrors visited on a people who simply wanted freedom and equality.

Worse yet, or at least equally disgusting and horrid, is the denial and attempts to erase this history that have gained favor in the last few years.

@Ontheroad Honestly, I had more confidence about the future before MAGA. Now I worry for my Gen Z niece and godchildren.

@bijouxbroussard yes, MAGA has destroyed much of the progress made, but in a way, I'm almost glad (not the right word, but it will do), that they brought the racism out in the open. It has obviously been there, but muffled by progress and the fear of being labeled racist. Now we can see it, identify it, label it and soon the time will come when when we can "right the ship", so to speak.

Still, I get what you are saying and living in Memphis, I see it play out on the streets, in the homes and in every day life.
Sadly, nothing has changed in Floriduh in 106 years.
