Just received a flyer from our Green Party candidate

For the local councils elections.

I noticed it didn't state it was recyclable 🤔

Now there's a green surprise!

I have found them to be complete [expletive deleted] hypocrites. Before Covid a friend and I hosted some private functions for the Liverpool Greens at the cafe she owned. They just left all their rubbish, empty bottles and cans on the tables without checking whether we had recycling facilities - as a commercial enterprise we didn't.

At the last general election, the leaflet from our Green candidate included instructions for recycling it as a sun hat 🌞

@SunshineGirl Well at least that's useful !

I don't think that they're quite as concerned about traditional environmental issues these days as much as supporting the Palestinian cause and reducing the already depleted British forces. At least that's what I hear most.

@FreddieUK I am not one of their supporters either, but I have not read their manifesto so can't judge their present views.

I read the local-council election flyers from the various candidates for those, including the Green Party's, but local councillors are usually more concerned with local matters than putting the rest of the world to rights. At least, they are round our way!

@ArishMell That's good.

They don't want to encourage you simply to chuck it in the green* bin....

*{Other colours may be used by Councils other than my county's.}

@ArishMell Technically it's glossy paper.
And like plastic trays and wraps for fruit and vegetables they won't take it.
We're being asked to take it to landfill and pay for the privilege
