If Obama had never been president, America would not have slid into fascism.

I’m sorry, but I honestly think the election of Obama (a black man who had the temerity to have ideas above his station) was just too much for the conservative, White-supremacist majority.

Trump would never have been elected. The SCOTUS would not have been stacked, America might still be considered a friendly nation, the world would not be racked by wars.

But now, Trump and the SCOTUS are doing everything they can to ensure another Obama will never happen again. Voting rights came first…

I don't agree with you this time, but it's an understandable conclusion if you only consider particular elements of recent US political history.

I DO agree that the racists are having a field day at the moment and it does not bode well for the future of any country that allows that group to have power.

@FreddieUK I'm sorry, but when you have a president who is motivated purely by his hatred for a Black man who had the one thing he didn't (respect), along with a House and Senate who swore they would do everything they could to oppose Obama, no matter what, it's hard to look past the race element.
