Yeah well... this is how I remember the guy - - - - attributed to sabr.org

October 19, 1981: Ninth-inning home run sends Dodgers to World Series on ‘Blue Monday’.

Monday, a lefty, was batting in the top of the ninth inning with two outs in a tie game with the 1981 National League Championship Series hanging in the balance. When he stepped into the batter’s box, he thought about a home run. On that first pitch, he saw the fastball he wanted. He fouled it off. The Montreal Expos’ reliever, right-hander Steve Rogers, dodged a bullet, but Monday worked the count to 3-and-1.

Rogers intended the next pitch to be a sinker down and away. Instead, it caught the heart of the plate. It surprised Monday. Unlike the first-pitch foul, Monday found his stroke, shocked the Expos, and propelled the Dodgers to the 1981 World Series. To this day, Montreal fans call this game “Blue Monday.”

And that involved our Cubbies in the World Series in Chicago (playing in Comiskey for extra gate receipts).

Not an American... Canuck, here.

In any event, the U.S.A. is the greatest neighbor any country could want. They are currently going through a rough patch with President Trump in charge but that will change (fingers crossed).

@rinkydinkydoink

@Roundandroundwego obviously doesn't get "Blue Monday."

Even though one would think the mentioning of the city of Montréal would have been a clue. 🤣
