Seems that secret service would have done quick background checks for hotel guests. I believe that is common practice. Regardless, he was stopped a floor above the ballroom.
Trump wasn't wounded or shot at during his presidency.

if the assassination attempt on trump was fake, then everything is potentially fake. you know, like january 6.
