They used to hate pedophiles... now they worship one and cheer when pedophiles are pardoned.
They used to scream for the Epstein Files to be released to the public... now they rejoice the Epstein Files are being covered up.
They used to believe in "America First..." now they love foreign interventionism and poorly executed forever wars.
They used to hate high petrol prices... now they want them as high as possible so they can be called good little patriots.
They used to hate people who shuffled, appeared to sleep in meetings, who looked lost, and had trouble completing sentences... now they love that and consider it a sign of a good leader.

@beckyromero I'm sure that's part of it, but I think the main reason Fascism became mainstream in America is just because Conservatism is inherently authoritarian. The Right also borrowed propaganda from European Fascism, such as the "Cultural Marxism" conspiracy theory. This creates a pipeline from Conservatism to Fascism.
