In a capitalistic society it wouldn't do any good. And yes both parties are guilty of capitalism. Even the constitution was in favor of "land owners" at its inception. Heck even Republics are in favor of capitalism.
Republics are in favor of the electorial system.
Is it no wonder that Adam Smith's book "The wealth of nations" was published in 1776? It's the first book on capitalism. And please mercantilism wasn't capitalism.
If you really want change, you really want a democracy? Then the whole constitution must be changed. Otherwise the wealthy will always have the upper edge.
