Rev. Franklin Graham prayed for victory over Iran. Pope Leo condemned the war.

They are both Americans, and they are both Christians.

Who is sitting on the right side of Jesus, and who is on wrong side with the Devil?

This is a discussion for devout American Christians who are committed to their faith.

Pope Leo is mostly correct, but Jesus was not averse to conflict. If a war were truly justified, say in self-defense, then Jesus would support it. This war doesn't even come close to rising to that standard.

@Roundandroundwego What would Jesus tell me about interacting with haters like you? He'd tell me to care about you despite your anger and hate. I hope your life is fulfilling and happy 🙏

Conflict is the antithesis of love: oneness of humanity. Your perception of Jesus' teaching is through the eyes of Judaism.

If a war were truly justified, say in self-defense, then Jesus would support it.

War is never justifiable, even in self-defense. Did Jesus resist his fate? He did implore to be spared when he prayed in the Garden at Gethsemane. You people have no idea what it is to be Christlike.

This war doesn't even come close to rising to that standard.

What standard are you talking about?

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout Jesus beating up moneylenders in the temple at Jerusalem is a made up story written by Jews.
@sree251 turn the other cheek. Not sees don't see it.

By your own words and logic, Jesus should support Iran because it is defending itself against Israel and America, who keep attacking it and killling Iranians and destroying the country.
@Diotrephes Jesus would turn the other cheek!
Ignore that and comment again. And again. You're unable to use logical arguments. You can upstage, ignore bully isolate and lie but you're refutation incapable.

Turning the other cheek is tough, man. My neighbor dumped a shitload of mulch on my driveway blocking access to the rear of my property. He said that it will be cleared within 24 hours. He did make an effort to remove some to mulch his garden. Three quarters of that stinky mulch is still sitting there and looks like a thunderstorm is coming. Who is going to clean up that mess? If I don't turn the other cheek, it could end up in a gunfight.
@sree251 solving your problems and resolving conflicts peacefully is already required by US law, and international law. Jesus would do that. American people aren't stupid, they fully understand! Seems like they will be capable of peaceful coexistance after they're punished and defeated and defanged and after they stay that way for a good long time.

@sree251 "... made up..."

So it may be, but don't forget Jesus (if he really existed) and his contemporary followers were all Jews themselves.

The story describes him regarding the usurers as desecrating the temple by using it for their trade.

Jesus, the character in the gospel stories are definitely made up by Jews. However, the teaching attributed to Jesus transmits a message that transcends Jewish moral values. It is that message that inspires a universal following unconnected to Judaism, the religion of Jews.

@sree251 I take your theological point there, but as a person he was Jewish.
