I was forced to mention two other generals being fired the other day, when someone mentioned general Randy George being fired.

The news agencies are skipping over others being concurrently fired. One being highly significant.

The other two are the chief of chaplains, Maj. Gen. William Green Jr., and the commander of Army Transformation and Training Command, Gen. David Hodne.

Think what happens when a training command changes leadership!

You get trained to do things differently. And if you won't do things differently, you won't even qualify.

Trump will ensure loyalty one way or the other. The other being showing loyalty through the ranks.

I hope no coup. That would set a precedent for the future that will not help long-term stability. However, refusing to obey illegal orders seems legitimate.
No. Ask around and listen, Americans never ever know when or how to refuse a work order of any kind for ethical or international legal reasons! Together they're a cluster bomb of obedience.

@Roundandroundwego Then why do we have so many whistleblowers, and a whistleblower protection law (until Trump rules otherwise)? And lest we forget, Lt. Calley and the 26 men involved in the My Lai Massacre in Vietnam got all the attention, but it was the others who refused to follow orders, and helicopter crews from neighboring units that tried to intervene and stop the war crimes, were the ones who brought it to light.

The sad part isn't the lack of those refusing to take orders, but the fact that only Lt. Calley was court-martialed, and when convicted only placed under house arrest, which was then cut short after 3 1/2 years. It wasn't those taking orders that failed; it was the hierarchy above who were supposed to hold the officers giving the orders accountable that failed.
@dancingtongue sadly, it's possible that learning could help the perps, the American mainstream, to change its ways. Whistleblowers get sacrificed for that fetid "population".

I dont think thats the plan. Miller and his people will make an announcement that the Presidents health is an issue in some way and have Vance sworn in..All nice and legal. And who is going to object really?😷

Not enough cabnet members yet. Requires a majority.

Trump didn't do himself any favors either by cutting the cabinet members.

There may also be a constitutional question about whether unconfirmed acting cabinet secretaries (i.e. Todd Blanche) would be able to vote on the 25th. But there is no question that a "yes" vote MUST include the VP.

I don't think, and hope, it would not go as far as a military coup. It should be for civilian politicians to replace the President - though with whom is an open question.
