Our difficulties with Canadian communism arise from AMERICAN adherence to our AMERICAN Constitution, which is a series of laws defined by our founding fathers, establishing our Independence from the British crown, and SO MUCH MORE.
Your personal TDS is not the issue. Communism, and the early pre-cursors to Communism, has infected ALL of Europe, and even though the UK is a late comer to that party, they have still been infected.
Canada maintained close ties to the WOKE British crown. Imitation of communism is still communism.

One family I know about personally had nine brothers and three sisters who opposed independence. Eight brothers got jobs serving the British military, one got a job as a US soldier. None saw battle, all were paid.
They weren't used to winning or getting their way in politics, they came from Europe, after all. They got over it.
