using expeditionary forces/special forces to carry out a set goal doesn't qualify as a "ground invasion"; we do it all the time in various countries.
yes, Iran wants to make a deal cause they're getting the shit kicked out of them. Their air force is destroyed, their blue water navy is destroyed, their air defenses are mostly destroyed, and continued resistance/threats are merely delaying the inevitable.
there's no need for a full on invasion, as once they lose complete control of hormuz strait, they'll essentially be rendered impotent... (it's the only thing they have left that can be used as any sort of leverage)
