Not Even Barack Obama's Deal Would Have Let Iran Off the Hook if They Violated the Terms of a Nuclear Agreement.

Trump's Deal?

The so-called 'snapback' mechanism, which allows for the automatic reimposition of sanctions if Iran fails to comply, would be removed.

They must have been enjoying TACOs in Tehran tonight!

In what way was Obamas Iran agreement bad.

@Spotpot

It was pathetically weak: It allowed Iran to still enrich uranium, contained "sunset" clauses and allowed Iran to evade or delay inspections. Those are just some of the problems with it.

@Spotpot Obama made it.. And he was one of "them".. You know.... "them"😷

John Kerry was SecState. He holds some of the blame.

The main problem with the deal was, just like with the ACA, Obama was content to claim something was accomplished when in reality he was just kicking the can down the road.

Just like Bush 41 in 1991 with Iraq. (Or Eisenhower in 1953 with Korea.)

@beckyromero I agree in principle. All US politics is "kicking it down the road" And that is what got them into trouble with the economy, Iran, and the Republic and Democrat party structures. No one in America plans beyond the next balance sheet or election. And therefore the big ticket items never get dealt with..
Of course, part 2 of the problem is that you can only get an agreement on things the other side wants to agree on. The Iran problem is simple. A dozen or so well placed nukes sends the nation back to the stone age. Follow that up with a couple of divisions in a line search from one end of the country to the other. But of course, thats monsterous and no one will do it..So the problem gets kicked down the road.😷
