You do realize there are thousands of windmills out there that are broken and they don’t fix them. The company selling them either don’t care or have gone bankrupt. . They produce more carbon monoxide in manufacturing windmills, then windmills, save and curb and monoxide.

Sure. They’re real specimens @Jake966
@jackjjackson I was not aware that "common sense" now referred to feelings based opinions with zero evidence to support it.

This is unfortunately quite simplistic.

For one you absolutely can blockade the raw materials required and limit access to industrial parts.

Solar in particular is unfortunately very fragile too.

The only reason it hasn't been targeted is no nation relies on this technology as their primary power generation method.

The reality is that would change if it becomes the primary power generation system and attacking it would be strategically relevant.

It is a sad reality.
It’s a perfect idea. And I agree it’s the right path to move…

Corporations don’t see that. Including the ones “doing it”

For example take Canada. The current government and its leader are not interested in anything but making money for the US companies he’s very heavily invested in… so they slow track everything and it becomes all about making money.

Those wind turbines are not the answer to it all.
As much as we try to solve our energy needs, oil is still in high demand and combustion engines will be powering vehicles for a long time to come. The good news is that air quality continues to improve and is the cleanest ever ...and getting cleaner
Waveney · 41-45, M
@Midlifemale no. but wind AND solar are.
Picklebobble2 · 61-69, M
Be a slave to big oil if it makes you feel better.....how's that working out for you ?.....especially at the moment ?
If it's not affecting you, give it six months, it's on it's way

It's not a new or radical idea.
We've known for decades the damage done to air quality and the effects on people's health as a result of burning fossil fuel.
Find me the report that shows a reduction in asthma cases; emphysema; bronchitis....etc not affected by outdoor environment.

@jshm2 How is China weaponizing fossil fuels? They are going all out in the transition to solar and wind.
Rare Earth Metals
There are prices increases on every component used in solar and wind energy.
Waveney · 41-45, M
@jackjjackson It's not true. Some parts for wind and solar have got a bit more expensive recently, but they’re still cheaper overall, as the IEA shows. The big difference is you pay once for renewables, while fossil fuels keep costing more forever, especially every time Trump causes an energy crisis.

You and truth never appear together. @Waveney
Every “renewable” isn’t free because of breakdowns and the end of the mechanical lifespan. @Waveney
