For the class struggling with poverty, the easiest way to get a regular paycheck is to join the official military force.
Iran is not so different.
Most of the people have family member or two in security position.
Can't really trigger full scale civil war between the opposition and the regime because there is large segment of the population who do in fact support the regime.

By definition, you are correct. Trump has again reinforced that he wont put American troops on the ground in Iran. And without that, as long as there continue to be Iranians, there will not be regime change..😷

@deadgerbil Indeed. Iran is demanding reparations and sanction relief. They know they have leverage and that Trump is in over his head. There is no way that Trump could agree to that without a humiliating climbdown.

@independentone And there is the key. Stop invading other countries and you may do better. But you aim to fight small wars against weaker enemies... But its not your land.. Even in WW2 there was a marked difference between fighting in France Belgium and Holland and when the fighting reached Germany and an already beaten army was fighting for their own land..😷
