He'll never face justice, but that would be the better option. So much of what we're seeing now is Obama's fault for not holding Bush accountable. We need to stop allowing the rich to be above the law.
@BohoBabe

I think there is no better example in America of a two-tiered justice system than what we've seen with Trump and MAGA

@BohoBabe Congress and the Senate blocked just about everything Obama wanted. Even affordable care was a Frankensteins Monster compared to what he wanted after the lobbyists got through with it..😷

@whowasthatmaskedman Yes, not every failure was Obama's fault. But Obama, like most Democrats, didn't use the bully pulpit. Trump is on TV and social media every day screaming about how Democrats should be arrested for made-up crimes. So why wasn't Obama screaming about how Bush and Cheney should be arrested for ACTUAL crimes they committed?
When Obama was asked about justice for the war crimes of the last admin, he said he didn't want to look backwards, he wanted to look forwards. Basically saying that presidents can do whatever they want. And what was his reward for letting the Republicans break all the laws? Getting blocked in congress non-stop. Then Biden became president and did the same thing. Again, why wasn't Biden on TV screaming about how Merrick Garland is a pussy for not going after Trump?

@whowasthatmaskedman This is true, however that was because McConnell garnered all the power and said he wasn't going to bring a single bill to vote while Obama was in office and that he took pride that his desk was the graveyard of bills, even if they were ones the republicans wanted. One person should not have that much power and not holding him accoubtable was also a stab against democracy.

@FoxyGoddess Yes. And the supreme irony being that McConnell was elected , and repeatedly re elected by Kentuckians, who sorely needed so much of what Obama was offering. I cant accept Americans will keep voting against their own interests. But they do!!😷

@whowasthatmaskedman They do for a variety of reasons, but mostly because they are horribly uneducated politically and tend to view elections as football games where the parties are the teams and you try to make your team win. America doesn't deserve the benefits of democracy. They have no idea what it even is

@FoxyGoddess Yes.. I have previously made the point that Americans seem to choose political affiliates the same way most people choose to support a sporting team. But for the life of me I cant work out why..😷

@BohoBabe I agree. Obama was in fact way too much of a "gentleman" while in power and maybe still is..Remember his background is community organising, where a meeting of minds, compromise and consensus are the tools of the trade. Trumps greed and bully tactics do more suit the corporate America,bully boy tactics that are at least the outside image of America. Thats where "the base" lives, even now..😷

And that's good. People should always try to compromise, but only if they have the same goals. Obama didn't seem to understand that the Republicans were never arguing in good faith because they don't have the same goals.

@BohoBabe I agree. He was, and many Democrats still seem to be, trying to fight fair. You just cant do that and prevail. I would go as far as to say that the legal paths are not to way to go dealing with those who would break the law. You have to stop them permanently. Or they just keep coming back.😷
