The problem isn’t Trump (at least directly)

Yesterday I read comments to a social media post about “chemtrails”. One comment mentioned that he was MAGA and from the other maga folks he knows the vast majority think stuff is being sprayed on them from planes.

And they support Trump because he is “draining the swamp” and uncovering the truth about everything. In other words, they claim chemtrails are happening now despite Trump being in power at the same tome they are trusting Trump to stop them.

Think about that.

The problem is a large segment of our society has cult mentality. It’s not just a political problem.

The other cause (I used to teach world history) is what I call "the need for enemies" (I did not originate the idea)--seems people, in groups, want to bond (human, survival, reasonable) and what really helps is both a feeling of common purpose, but also a sense of common enemies the group is needed to protect them from...so often in history, tribes and countries and governments go out looking for enemies to protect themselves and their followers from, and sometimes to hype up "fake" enemies...

Yes!! And an aversion to truth--it seems people want to buy into what feeds their biases...right now there is so much misinformation "guiding " us... it is difficult to discern real truth any more!!! And so much is motivated, sad to say, by money--who can profit from what...all about the money...

It's simple physics . It's water vapour off the plane freezing around a dust particles at -40°C or lower. The length they stay visible depends on temperature and the humidity of the air they form in.

Another point I never get is to think about cost of aviation fuel. It's expensive to run a jet. So you put in the fuel you need to get the weight of the plane, passengers , luggage and freight to the destination. Seriously are airlines going to fill up a tank with gallons of chemicals they then need gallons of additional fuel to get off the ground. Just economically it's bollocks.

Absolutely right. The thing is, they don't believe in physics. Somehow they've turned it into a faith thing rather than a head and rational thing, and they never like simple answers. If you can't accept that things are actually normally very straightforward based on ideas that you can be taught rationally to understand, then you have to invent your own reasons for your life being a mess. That's why they dare not let their children go to a proper school: the kids would see through them by the time they were teenagers.

@KunsanVeteran Yeah, if you listened to more people that come back from a cultisch experience, you'll hear a similair testimony. But these people just loose themselves in a movement that labeled themselves "moral", just because they excist.

I'm at a point, where I dare to say that MAGA has the potential to be worst then the NAZI paradigm in Germany. The NAZI party, tried to keep the attrocities away from the public. A lot of the concentration camps were build in the fields outside the cities. And the destruction camps were in Poland, away from the "germanic nation", that they were trying to build.

But MAGA, just brands it and put their attrocities on T-shirts and coffee mugs.


They go to "Poland" to make selfies in front of their victims.

If you want to get an idea... just listen to the speeches made during Charlie Kirks memorial service... some of these speeches are wild. Ben Carson was quoting books that can only be classified as conspiratorial anti-communist drivel.

Mark Levin is memed out here by Sunsporter, but just do yourself a favor and read one of his introductions. You get a free sample on Amazon... it's wild.

JD Vance, recently wrote an introduction for a book called "Unhumans" by Jack Posobiec and Joshua Lisec. Just read the introduction, it's the free sample on Amazon. It's crazy.

... but this is all normal in the MAGA echo chamber... and it's also the reason why outsiders can't take these people serious.

@Carla I think that you are correct about those deeply immersed in the cult.

But I have had success with those who are on the fringes, already have their doubts, and still possess critical thinking skills.

And here’s the good news: I think there are far more of those than we realized. And many are starting to break away. The Epstein/Maxwell connections being exposed and the depths of Trump’s sheer evilness have a great deal to do with this…

You are at least partly correct in that the Demented Donnie second misadministration is causing a mental health, spiritual, and human decency crisis in this country such as we have never witnessed before!

It’s a disaster of vicious lies, crimes, misinformation, deceit, bigotry, trashing of human respect & dignity…

@WanderingDude While what you are saying is true (and frankly he has more than one Puppetmaster: Putin, Netanyahu, Stephen Miller, Roger Stone…)

But the problem OF TRUMP is that he’s a symbol that people falsely worship.

Unless and until he’s made to answer for his crimes and all of his ill gotten gains are removed from him and his family, this country and the whole world can’t start to heal and move forward again.
