Donald Jr has a better shot at the nomination than JD Vance if he runs.
If the war with Iran goes south (as most things Trump touches does), JD will try to distance himself from it - a recipe for disaster when trying to get the backing of the MAGA sheep.
With JD and Don Jr vying for the MAGA base, that leaves an open lane for Marco among the non-MAGA conservative types. Others would run, too: DeSantis, Cruz, Haley - and drop out one by one. But Rubio would be best positioned among that group.
As far as a never-Trumper getting the nomination? Don't see that happening.

More and more Latino voters vote GOP in every election and that tread will continue. You are deluding yourself. The former dem party has kicked out and is kicked out the rest of the sensible moderates. Commie Mandami is your new voice. As "his" war rages on, "the high gas prices is good mantra" becomes a proposed solution, and Pam Bondi loses even more of her footing after being interrogated for incompetently trying to coverup the Epstein Files, the walls are going to continue to close in on him. A wide lane will open for an "I'm not like [Pedophile Cry-Baby-]trump candidate who has the courage to wear properly sized shoes.
