He is talking about naval escorts for tankers in a straight 20 miles wide with all the big shits queuing up in neat little lines in waters that are perfect conditions for subs, and within range of land based tube and missile artillery.

This scenario alone would put people in a position of deciding do I go down with the ship and drown or jump off and burn alive in the lake of burning oil on the surface?
