is anyone else a progressive Republican?

What I mean by a progressive Republican—or, you could even call it a reform Republican—is someone modeled after figures like Abraham Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, or even FDR. Although FDR was a Democrat, he drew on many classical Republican principles. Essentially, this type of Republican is strongly opposed to slavery—or, in a modern context, human trafficking—firmly against corruption in general, and also supports traditional Republican issues such as gun rights and the Constitution.

Everything you referenced is from the past - most people in the world were not even alive when those politicians were in power. We are so far from most of those issues that it does even make sense - what intelligent person is still worried about who was on what side of slavery? We all need to get over it and deal with our reality as it stands today and will be tomorrow.

@AmericanAvenger human trafficking is the modern slavery and is the new coalition

@1930sfan And the number of Americans that are concerned or impacted by it is probably negligible in comparison to those issues that matter the most to the most. With the Trump Administration's management of the border, it means even less now.
