is anyone else a progressive Republican?

What I mean by a progressive Republican—or, you could even call it a reform Republican—is someone modeled after figures like Abraham Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, or even FDR. Although FDR was a Democrat, he drew on many classical Republican principles. Essentially, this type of Republican is strongly opposed to slavery—or, in a modern context, human trafficking—firmly against corruption in general, and also supports traditional Republican issues such as gun rights and the Constitution.

@VeronicaJane McCain was a disappointment
@nudistsueaz how so, because he was willing to reach across the aisle for consensus? His was an era before this mad polarization, when congress could work together.....

@VeronicaJane As a native of Arizona, my family is very aware of his achievements. He would always campaign on the right, then once elected he would move to the left. This happened year after year and election after election. He was the last and deciding vote on the Unaffordable Health care act. His goal was to become as rich as his wife.
