Under the Mullahs leadership, and in pursuit of Velayat-e faqih (guardianship of the jurist), Iran murdered hundreds of thousands of people, as it bullied Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen and Gaza.
This was not done to free people up. It was done purely in the service of Mullahs who wanted to take Jerusalem.
The West was culpable in turning Iran into a theocracy. But, believing that a new leaf can be turned, President Obama who was a generation removed from the events of 1953, and certainly light years politically apart from colonialism, gave his first speech overseas, at Cairo University.
He copped a mea culpa, and told Iran to join him in shaping a more balanced future. But Iran spat on the hand that was extended in friendship and blasted ahead, spending $Bs that could have improved Iranians lives, on creating Hezballah, and other similar militias around the Middle East, with the sole purpose of killing as Americans and Jews as they possibly can.
At that point, Iran lost its claim to moral superiority and became a murderous oppressor.
They planted agents that suckered the GOP into invading Iraq, and sucked the rest of the world into it as well. The used the resulting suffering of the Iraqi people to recruit to repress some more.
Trump, to some extent, is the net result of Iran's Mullahs. Netanyahu would no be there if Iran did finance and arm Hamas, and egged it on to kill Jews. Trump would still be selling steaks, and Netanyahu would be jail, undoubtedly as a result of his grift.
I'm simply venting here, because the Iranian people face an impossible situation. The idiots calling on them to rise up, are NOT going to be marching on the IRG headquarters, and don't have a fucking clue.
Trump simply wants a puppet to control the Oil and Natural Gas, as well as appease the US weapons industry. In his mind, and this will probably work, when we're done depleting our ammo, we will order hundreds of $Billions on new stuff as well as new weapons systems, the red states economy will experience a jolt and JD Vance, the Manchurian Candidate will become the next President and the Trump Family grift will flourish.
But don't call that standing up to the America bully. You're just having a tantrum, because the Mullahs bullies are taking a beating.

With asymmetrical warfare the reply will likely come on US soil with car bombs and infrastructure attacks that affect the utilities or transport hubs. Or cause public events to become mass casualty events. Thats how this game is played..😷

@Northwest The direct attacks against Irans neighbours are strategic. The oil refineries, ports, water desalination plants, and the iconic western style buildings, plus embassies and American bases. And all this after the death of the leader and presumably a number of his successors. All that speaks to a plan. Maximum impact on the people who are funding America, to interrupt the flow of support including oil and fertilizer. Thats immediate. Then once the weather in America improves the fun will start on American soil, giving Trump his excuse to declare an emergency and postpone the Mid terms. Everybody wins. Except the people. But they werent going to vote for trump anyway.. So it really doesnt matter to trump how unpopular he becomes because of American casualties in Iran or at home..😷

Russia isn't pretending anything. Now their supplier of missiles and drones has been destroyed, and Russia and China just took another oil hit. No Iranian Crude coming anytime soon. Russia isn't projecting much in the way of power.
And that's "Leaders". They seem to be running low on people willing to fill the vacancies. Perhaps you could give it a go?

@whowasthatmaskedman I always wonder how many of those in positions of power would champion war if their own children/grandchildren/family members were ordered to fight. Makes me mad as hell. These “leaders” sit far away in their cushy offices and homes while innocent people die.

@OlderSometimesWiser Not that it would every happen. But in my perfect world, every politician would be forced to use the services the government provides as part of their job. The minister for educations kids would have to attend public schools. The transport minister would have to use public transport and the health ministers family rely on the public health system. Our current PM at least grew up in public housing. But thats very unusual.😷
