The US put a literal terrorist in as "president" of Kosovo.

They installed Fascists in Croatia.

@DeWayfarer Nope. Not initially at least. Step one was crash their economy, And most of the extremists were again directed and supported from outside.

Besides this the CIA station chief for Yugoslavia wrote a book where he lays out they handed out literal duffel bags full of cash to any murderous psycho in the country from Chetniks, to Ustashe (they put them in power in Croatia the same people who Hitler thought were too extreme), to Islamic terrorists like the KLA.
