Arrest Made In The Epstein Case

Not in the US.

The UK police arrested former Price Andrew.

In the meanwhile, Trump continues to insist that we must move on. nothing to see there.

The House committee investigating, deposed Les Wexner, the unnamed co-conspirator. Johnson decided to send members of Congress to his palace in Ohio, because he's an older gentleman. He also decided that no GOP House members are to go.

Wexner said he had no idea what Epstein was doing. Even though he gave him power of attorney over all his financial affairs. Wexner claims that after Epstein got convicted he discovered the latter embezzled hundreds of millions and more recently, he claimed that he did not give a private jet, real estate in New York, Ohio, Florida, etc., but he sold them to him at appraised value.

Johnson wants to move on. Nothing to see there.

It's it bizarre but the Epstein revelations have impacted the UK more than the US. Someone losing a royal title over a scandal is almost unheard of. Andrew did a terrible interview a few years ago which raised more questions than answers. There is enough now to suggest that he is probably. guilty of child sex crimes. Though obviously, he denied this and has the right to defend himself.

As a separate story, the Epstein scandal has also brought down the US ambassador and the Prime Minister's chief of staff. The former (Peter Mandelson) maintained a close friendship with Epstein even after the child sex trafficking convictions. In addition Mandelson leaked confidential govt information to Epstein in order to lobby the government against a tax on banker bonuses. This happened at the peak of the 2007 financial crisis.

Morgan McSweeney was Starmer's chief of staff and known to be an extremely powerful Labour insider, He lobbied hard to get Mandelson (his friend and mentor) the plum job of US ambassador. He was forced to resign two weeks ago as his association with Mandelson was untenable. McSweeney was already a controversial figure, being known as a ruthless machiavellian and being the author of Keir Starmer's failing political strategy

Mandelson and McSweeney are pretty awful people and deserve everything that happened to them imo.

I imagine because there are nothing but criminals running the offices here in the US.

I do not know what the UK is like but hopefully more honorable than here.

@HoeBag It's really not great. Here it's a different kind of mess but it's still a mess.

@Burnley123 Yeah, seems that way in most nations. A mess among the leaders. Not a comforting thought.

Andrew? Really? Starting at the "top" of the bottom.

I hope more happens.

I saw a quote that may or may not have been said "if you arrest them all the economy will burn up"

Let it effing burn

@Nanoose I don't think it has any impact on the US public perception.
Imagine. In the UK, even royalty isn’t above the law. But apparently here, the president now clearly is. 🤨
