Do u believe not liking Bad Bunny makes you a racist? 🙄 🐰 🐰🐰

Look people. We can all agree on one thing. It was a beautiful thing to see how an artist performed in honor of his culture and his people. I get that ok. But not everyone speaks Spanish. Not everyone listens to Bad Bunnys music. That does not make
you a racist. It just means that you love your own country enough to stand your ground. Yes it's a complicated issue. But we as Americans should not be afraid of speaking our minds. Do you agree ?

Not everybody listens to Rhianna.

How does not being into bad bunny show you are standing your ground?

I am not one to listen to this genre of music. I don't listen to many genres.
But i do appreciate talent, however it is presented.
That show was well produced. I understood the message. And the music was energized. All good stuff. And in a minute, one could get a translation.

And guess what? Bad bunny is an american citizen. Able to speak his mind, unafraid, as an american citizen.
Last sunday, his message was one of love, unity and belief in one's self.
And somehow, that is being not only vilified, it is being attempted to be investigated by some doofas on the right.
I mean...come on.

@Carla I don't listen to the Bad Bunny genre, but as you said, the production was beautiful, the wedding was an actual wedding, the imagery was great.

Some of the people who were complaining the loudest were racist, for insisting that the usage of Spanish is anti-America, and they did not understand a thing.

These are the same people who listened to Kid Rock, performing this at the racists Super Bowl half time (more like was lip synching badly):

Bawitdaba, da-bang, da-bang, diggy-diggy-diggy
Said the boogie, said up drop the boogie
Bawitdaba, da-bang, da-bang, diggy-diggy-diggy
Said the boogie, said up jump the boogie

And thought this was English.

He was speaking in tongues
@Northwest. He's a christian guy now.

@Northwest I appreciate Latino culture and music. I just felt like this particular event should have been in English.
Why. Because the US is a majority English speaking country. ☺
@Zonuss Canada is also a majority English speaking country but I am very glad to quite often hear performers from this land singing in French, Inuktitut, Anishinaabemowin, Ukrainian, Yiddish... oh and also Spanish, such a beautiful language.
Zonuss · 46-50, M
@ThePatientAnarchist Well good for you. But it's just a bit disrespectful to have an artist perform outside of a conventional concert, and not speak English to a majority American US based audience.
@Zonuss how about not "disrespectful" but "challenging"?

Well good for you. But it's just a bit disrespectful to have an artist perform outside of a conventional concert, and not speak English to a majority American US based audience.

It is called art and while there are people who swear by Picasso's works, some might think he was having a stroke. And the latter include myself.

The reason why this is controversial, is because some people think the gibberish should have been in English, not Spanish, else it's disrespectful. It's as if Santa Clara has been an English speaking city all along.

Father Junípero Serra, who founded mission Santa Clara in 1777, followed a Spanish tradition requiring English to be used for the Super Bowl half time. 😭

@ThePatientAnarchist No. It was disrespectful. You cannot create the narrative here. Our country is too complicated for you outsiders to understand. ☺
Zonuss · 46-50, M
@Northwest So what. We liked Shakira.
We liked Jennifer Lopez.
Not Bad Bunny Rabbit.
@Zonuss but you started by expressing a "problem" with a total *insider*, Bad Bunny.
Zonuss · 46-50, M
@ThePatientAnarchist Bad Bunny is an outsider because he's from Puerto Rico. It's not exclusively US. We count them as one of us but they are not originally part of the lower 48.
@Zonuss so Alaskans are outsiders too?
Zonuss · 46-50, M
@ThePatientAnarchist Technically yes. Hawaiians too. Those countries were bought out by colonizers. We don't really get down with outsiders like that. No.
@Zonuss which of the original 13 states were your ancestors enslaved in?
Zonuss · 46-50, M
@ThePatientAnarchist That is irrelevant. What is relevant is that my people are the original people. We are the real American Indians.
Native Americans are our cousins...the redskins. You have been lied to. Sorry now you know. ☺
Zonuss · 46-50, M
@ThePatientAnarchist No substance. No logic. Just a picture there. I rest my case. ☺
@Zonuss May it rest in peace.
Zonuss · 46-50, M
@ThePatientAnarchist You haven't made any argument of substance. Nothing. I'm so disappointed. But then again you are Canadian.☺
