Increasing Tariffs on Beef

Fact Sheet: President Donald J. Trump Ensures Affordable Beef for the American Consumer – The White House https://share.google/LRlAqi9cVj5AvAE8k

Temporarily increasing tariffs on beef from Argentina, and this is supposed to lower beef prices.

It may add to the amount of beef in the market but how is it going to lower beef prices with increased tariffs even if temporary?

I'm no mathematician but that math doesn't add up.

Supply and demand - BUT HIGHER TARIFFS = higher cost = cost past to the consumer.

Tariffs reduce supply and protect domestic producers by keeping prices high. A folly that is ultimately paid for by the consumer.
