White Christian Nationalism: Buyer's remorse

[media=https://youtu.be/IVeEewysTrI]

An intresting conversation with a Pastor, that bought into the White Christian Nationalist myth and then became a seller/activist for the cause. But his conciousness has been shaking by the hatred that he helped to create and the violence that goes along with it.

Some intresting moments:

22:52 - Where he discusses the Don Lemon situation, and the hypocrisy that he's experiencing around protesting during service.

29:15 - Where he discusses the tactics of fear that he used on his followers, to gather money. And how he perceives that these actions shaped his followers worldview.

I don't often watch the whole of videos that people post here, or anywhere else for that matter. But something about Robert Schenk's testimony in the clip at the beginning drew me in.

I found the whole thing rather moving as well as horrifying. And while it's difficult to forgive Schenk's former behaviour I wish him well in the future and hope that he has some effect.

@ninalanyon Just glad the person reevaluated his position ... even if it comes at a point where his concious can't bear his own behavior anymore. But yeah, this is the 2nd person I listen to this week, that I feel, is dissapointed and disgusted with his past.

It will be the downfall of many. This ideology is self defeating.☺

@jshm2 Well, they believe in a myth... That's the case with most political ideologies.

I disagree that "nationalism" is always "jingoist". (for instance, I don't believe that Nationalism and patriotism always overlap... but not all nationalists will admit that)
