Judge cuts rapist sentence in half because.....his black

Tracy Davis, a Jefferson County Judge in Kentucky, has cut the jail sentence of Christopher Thompson IN HALF from 65 years to 30 years, after he was convicted of kidnapping, robbing, and raping a woman.

Her reasoning? Because Thompson is black and is a victim of society.

Are we sure it doesn't because the initial investigation was biased as a result of him being black?

I'm not trying to be that guy, I'm just asking questions.

@LordShadowfire I get what your saying my stance however is When someone commits multiple violent crimes like this, the focus should be on the harm done to the victim and public safety. Background and social factors can matter, but they shouldn’t outweigh the seriousness of the crime or the jury’s decision. Regardless of the mental capacity. I know if someone raped someone I know I would like to see the book thrown at him.

@AmericanVibes I didn't say anything about his mental capacity. Where did you get that? And why do you assume I'm talking about societal factors in committing crimes? I'm saying we need to investigate the investigators to make certain they had the right suspect in the first place.

I know whereof I speak when I say that police investigators are lazy, and go for the easy answer, which isn't always the right one.

If there was a crime of this nature being investigated, and the following two men were suspects, I think we both know which one would be looked at harder in this society.
